My name is Josephine Thang and today I’m a part-time internet entrepreneur. Actually someone my age (I’m already 60) should be preparing for my retirement and spending my afternoons playing with my grandchildren.

But even before I could realise that dream…
My ex-company cruelly decided to retrench me.
Back then I was in a high position in an international manufacturing company. I thought I was at the top of my career, I had people reporting to me day in and out. I was also the person responsible for driving my company’s production and meeting monthly quota.
For a while, I thought I was practically invincible. After the years of slaving and climbing the ranks I had finally reached the pinnacle of my career. Everything I had ever done was for the company. I burnt week nights staying back to make sure production was met.

I spent much of my weekends flying from country to country for meetings with the various international department heads. I even have a special suitcase on standby for my short trips and spent many nights hanging around airports.
To reward me for my efforts, my company issued many different trophies and certificates for ‘best employee’, ‘best production’ and much more. Over the years, I must have collected over 20 different awards and trophies.
With such amazing achievements, I thought that I more than anyone else had a strong footing in the company and there was no way they would ever get rid of me. I could continue doing what I did until I reached the legal retirement age and settle down.
That was before the “restructuring exercise.”
The truth is, there were signs the company was about to let people go. You would hear people talking about who is likely to go next. Often you find yourself speculating (even hoping) who will receive that golden handshake.
The atmosphere in the company is always different once these talks begin. Nobody wants to go yet everyone knows it is inevitable.
But not me!
I believed my position was secured. After the countless sacrifices I’ve made, the mountain of trophies I’ve been rewarded with, there was no possible way they would ever get rid of me. I would be the one to decide WHEN it was right for me to go.
Unfortunately, I was WRONG!
The shock of receiving that letter still haunts me. I remember asking myself if I was dreaming, that this wasn’t how things were supposed to turn out. But ultimately, business is business.
It wasn’t just me who received my letter. Most of the people on my team had to go as well. To be fair, it wasn’t that the company had forgotten all I had done for them. Because they changed the majority of the heads, the team taking over simply didn’t know about my past record.
The new heads wanted to change things and because my team wasn’t directly a sales generating department… we were just another cost generating group that could be cut away at a moment’s whiff.
But it wasn’t the retrenchment that shocked me the hardest… for the first time in my life, I realised a cold and brutal truth about myself…
I didn’t have a single revenue generating skill.
Everything I knew was about management and production. Ask me about systems and how to run a team and I could rattle on for hours. But how to earn a single dollar with the skills I have… and I had to swallow the bitter pill admitting that I didn’t have anything.
And at my age…
I was now too old and expensive to hire. No one was going to hire me even if I took a 50% pay cut. My only options were to either move to a different industry or take up part-time work just to pay the bills.
Deep down I knew there had to be another way. I wasn’t going to accept defeat just like that. Not after my years of slaving away at a corporate job, thinking they would take care of me. This time, I was determined to make sure I took care of myself first. And the only way to do that was to learn real revenue generating skills.
I attended my first ever workshop. But it has proven to be my single best decision I had ever made as it became the life-changing moment for me.
Sure, I was skeptical at first. Who wouldn’t? Especially since this is a workshop on internet business and I was afraid that at my age I couldn’t “catch up” with the youngsters. The internet was still a new giant for me but I did admire those who were already making a living from the internet. So I registered for the workshop, made sure to block out my calendar and dragged myself down.
2 Years Later
Today, I’m now running an internet business that brought in 6-figures of revenue within my first 5 months of starting my company.
I’m not worried about job security as I’m running a business I never knew existed before 2014. Yet learning the skills to run this business has let me live life on my own terms…
I’ve more time for my grandchildren – something I didn’t have for my children as I reported to work at 8am every day and return home late in the evening. Now no one tells me what to do – I’m the one telling my team what to get done. I don’t have to fight against the peak hour traffic (I prefer to cook dinner at home while everyone in Singapore is forcing their way into a sweaty cabin at 6pm). And I’ve doubled what I used to be earning previously.
I’m not telling you all this to brag but rather to tell you… if you find yourself in a similar situation, you don’t have to give up hope. Not yet.
If someone like me could pick up a new skill and succeed at my age, there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t do the same.
The good news is… the workshop I attended back in 2014 is back. It has been further upgraded to make it even easier for students to learn and execute the strategies. All you have to do is register and come down for the 3 hours’ session here.
Is an internet business for you?
Let me start by saying, you will have to do some work. Learning a new skill may be a little uncomfortable at the beginning. It’s like learning how to ride a bicycle or drive a car. The first time you do it is going to be a little scary. But as you practice a little more, you begin to notice how much easier it gets. Your body naturally moves and reacts faster and you’re no longer thinking about what to do… you just start doing it.
It’s even easier with an internet business. As long as you’ve dabble around on the internet, you know how to search for things online, order stuff and make online payments… you’re already knowledgeable and experienced enough to get started. And for slower learners, there are mentors to guide you.
The truth is as long as you’re willing to learn and follow step-by-step instructions, you can easily pick up this skill.
If you sincerely want to learn an important revenue generating skill in our internet age, then I encourage you to click on the button below and register for the live event.
It was a game changer for me and I know it will be for you as well.
